Newborn and maternity PHOTOgraphy IN MELBOURNE
Newborn and maternity photos that celebrate wonder.
Whether it’s your first baby or your fourth, life with a newborn brings a whole lot of change—and a whole lot of wonder. I offer in-home newborn photography in Melbourne that’s relaxed, honest, and focused on real moments. From tiny newborns to older babies, my sessions are designed to feel natural, comfortable, and true to your family’s story.
As a Melbourne newborn photographer, I have a gentle, straightforward approach that lets those quiet, unexpected moments unfold naturally. It’s about natural newborn photos that reflect your family’s connection—without adding pressure to an already full season of life.
“I honestly couldn’t be happier with our newborn photoshoot. Bec made the whole experience so lovely and it is a treasured memory of ours from those crazy early weeks. She was professional, relaxed and calm and made us feel so at ease. Our communication with her was fantastic. Our photos captured so much beauty, love and rawness in those early weeks.”
How to book your newborn photos
You’re expecting a baby, there are so many unknowns so let’s make this easy , here’s how it works:

Natural newborn photography begins
in your home, with your loved ones
I specialise in photographing newborn sessions in your home, not at a studio. Getting out of the house with a baby can be tough, so my in-home approach makes things easier and more relaxed. Being at home means everything’s right where you need it, which helps create more meaningful images in the spaces you use every day. It also gives you the flexibility for feeding or changing, and to feel at ease in your own environment.
Your home doesn’t need to be fancy (I live in an 80’s brick house) or immaculate (you’ve just had a baby – and with three kids, I understand!). All I need is a window, a bed, a door, or a chair. If the weather is suitable, I often combine indoor and outdoor shots around your home. Siblings and well-behaved pets are welcome too!
For older babies or during warmer months, an outdoor family-style session might be an option if you prefer not to use your home.
Please note that my newborn sessions include parents (and any siblings). They are not just individual baby photos. If you’re looking for an individual studio-style session, I can point you in the right direction.
My approach centres around what makes your family unique—your own clothing, your own blankets. Images of your baby held snugly in your arms or wrapped in a knitted blanket your grandmother spent hours making are much powerful and meaningful than any items I could ever bring in. I offer a handy preparation guide to help you get ready.

Birth Photography + Fresh Sessions
I take on a very limited number of births each year, but if my schedule allows, I’d love to document yours. I work in partnership with The Birth Photography Collective, where you can request me as your primary photographer. Booking through the Collective provides access to reliable backup photographers—essential for the unpredictable, on-call nature of birth photography. It’s a bit like having a team of midwives, ensuring someone will be there to capture your birth.
Birth photography is incredibly meaningful to me, and I’d be excited to be part of your experience if the timing and location work. I often photograph births at The Angliss Hospital, Box Hill Hospital, Mercy Hospital, or home births.
Please note, I do not photograph free births under any circumstances.
